Such an encouraging, informative interview! I was so glad to hear that crisis management groups networked with our local suicide prevention center don’t rush to institutionalize or medicate those who are silently crying out for help. Sounds like everyone from the police to counselors to pastors, and even peer discussion groups want to listen and console and truly connect with potential victims so they can lift their hopelessness. Genuine, sincere, person-to-person communication sounds like the best approach for success.
It must take so much skill and compassion to invite a potential victim to open their trust and vulnerability to receive help and believe in their innate value. I thank the Lord for all you caring people engaged in this life-saving work. Thank you, Tammy, for sharing your involvement so we can get involved.
